OK, So It's Been a While...

In fact, almost an entire year has gone by.  I can chronicle the year, almost day-to-day, but I think I will highlight a few things...

I began working at a dive shop last year as a PADI Divemaster.  During January, while I was doing a Scuba Review, the owner of the dive shop told me I should be an instructor and that the shop would help with seeing that as a reality.  To make an incredibly long story very short, I was certified as a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor on June 3, 2012.  I spent 10 weekends over the summer of 2012 getting to know and certify some very wonderful people!  I'm already looking forward to 2013!

My "real" job has kept me fairly busy.  Since moving to New York City, I clearly am not traveling as much and am able to enjoy some of the things the city has to offer.  Not to say that I haven't traveled!  My highlights of the year were a visit to the Bahamas in February and our Quota Club trip to Maui at the end of April.  It's been a transitional year for me at the job, it will be interesting to see what 2013 brings.

During May, I had to move.  OK, the move wasn't far.  It was about 10 yards across the back patio.  But I still had to move.

My daughter, Katie, came to visit in September (and, coincidentally, became a certified Rescue Diver in the process) and my son, Tom, came to visit for Thanksgiving.  Amazing times with those two and it's good for us to get together.  I did go back to Minnesota in May and was able to see all my children and that was a very special time.  All three of them came out for a few days after Christmas in January.  We had a good, but somewhat challenging, time.

I'm seeing a podiatrist and a chiropractor.

I've made some new friends, but need to learn to be OK with being both alone and lonely once in a while.  This just might help...  And I'll spend some more time drilling into each of these and getting everyone caught up.  And, in the process, may be able to catch myself up as well...
